8-Channel PoE Network Video Recorder

The TP-Link VIGI NVR1008H-8MP is an 8-channel PoE network video recorder designed for small to medium surveillance installations. It combines power and data delivery over a single cable for each connected camera. The unit supports 4K recording resolution for high-detail footage capture. It is intended for users building a dedicated IP camera system.

Suits installers needing integrated PoE ports

This recorder suits installers who want a self-contained unit with eight built-in PoE ports to simplify cabling. It fits setups requiring 4K recording capability across multiple channels. Buyers needing more than eight camera channels should look at higher-capacity recorders. Systems requiring separate PoE switches or non-PoE camera integration need different hardware.

HDMI output enables direct local monitoring

The HDMI output allows direct connection to a monitor for live viewing and playback without a separate PC. This changes the workflow by enabling on-site footage review immediately after installation. The integrated PoE ports remove the need for external power injectors or switches for connected cameras. Bundled accessories are not detailed in the supplied data.

Questions about this item

What cameras or cabling do I need to connect to the 8 PoE ports on this recorder?

Any IP cameras that support Power over Ethernet can plug directly into the eight PoE ports, each supplying power and data over a single network cable.

Can I keep my existing non-PoE cameras and still use this NVR?

Yes, non-PoE cameras can be connected through an external PoE switch or injector, then added to the recorder over the same network.

How do I confirm the recorder is capturing 4K footage on all channels after installation?

Open the live view or playback on the HDMI-connected monitor and check that each channel displays the 4K recording indicator in the VIGI interface.
