Control five computers with one monitor, keyboard, and mouse while sharing four USB 3.0 peripherals at 5Gbps
The TRENDnet KVM002 is a five-port HDMI KVM switch that lets you operate up to five computers from one monitor, keyboard and mouse. It supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz and provides a four-port USB 3.0 hub running at 5 Gbps for shared peripherals. The unit ships with built-in cables and uses push-button switching on the front panel. It is aimed at users who need to consolidate multiple HDMI workstations into a single desktop setup.
This switch suits professionals, IT staff or home users managing five HDMI computers with one display and USB peripherals. It works with USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices and handles audio and microphone switching. Buyers who need hotkey switching will not find it here because the function is not supported. Users with more than five computers or with DisplayPort-only sources will need a different solution. The front USB 3.0 ports only become active when each computer is connected to the switch via a USB cable.
The KVM002 is a plug-in device with built-in cables, so no separate cabling is required for the computer links. Connect each computer's HDMI and USB ports to the switch, attach the shared monitor and peripherals, then press the front buttons to change ports. A frequent issue is forgetting the USB links; without them the four front USB 3.0 ports stay inactive. Hotkey switching is not available, so all switching must be done manually at the unit.

Yes — the manufacturer notes that a USB cable must connect every computer’s USB port to the switch, otherwise the four front-panel USB 3.0 ports will not function.
The hub is fully backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so current peripherals will operate normally at USB 2.0 speeds.
Use the front-panel push buttons to change the active computer; the monitor should instantly display the newly selected system’s desktop.
