AX3000 PoE+ media bridge

The TRENDnet TEW-923DAP is a dual-band WiFi 6 access point that also operates as a media bridge. It connects wired devices such as smart TVs or game consoles to a wireless network through its single 2.5GBASE-T PoE+ LAN port. The low-profile housing includes mounting plates for wall or ceiling installation.

Sustained multi-device throughput

OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies process multiple data streams at once, keeping performance stable when many clients are active. The 2.4 GHz band delivers 573 Mbps and the 5 GHz band delivers 2402 Mbps for a combined 2.91 Gbit/s link rate. WPA3 encryption secures traffic without adding latency overhead.

2.5GBASE-T PoE+ uplink

The single RJ-45 port runs at 2.5 Gbit/s and accepts PoE+ power, so no separate adapter is needed. Buyers whose switch only provides 1 Gbit/s ports or standard PoE will not get the rated throughput or power budget.

Questions about this item

Does the TEW-923DAP run hot or draw much power when it operates 24/7?

The unit is powered through its single 2.5GBASE-T PoE+ port, so it adds no separate power adapter and draws only what the PoE+ supply provides.

What must I already own for this access point to work?

You need a PoE+ injector or a PoE+ switch port and a standard Ethernet cable; the box includes a 0.5 m cable and mounting hardware.

Will the 2.5GBASE-T port slow down if I connect it to my older gigabit switch?

The port auto-negotiates, so it will link at 1 Gbps with a gigabit switch and still pass WiFi 6 traffic at up to 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.
