Compact Rack Console

The Tripp Lite B021SWHDK is a 1U rack-mount KVM console with an integrated 18.5 in. LCD. It combines a keyboard, mouse and display in a short-depth chassis that fits standard server racks. System administrators managing HDMI-equipped servers or network appliances use it for direct, local control without a separate monitor.

HDMI and USB Limits

The console connects to target systems through HDMI and USB interfaces for video and peripheral signals. Cable reach and the number of attached servers are constrained by the included HDMI/USB KVM cable kit. Video resolution and refresh rate depend on the source device and cable quality rather than the console itself.

Single-Port Headroom

The unit provides one local console port for a single administrator at a time. It handles routine server maintenance, BIOS configuration and OS installation on the connected host. Environments requiring simultaneous multi-user access or control of more than one server need additional KVM switching hardware.

Which interface does the HDMI KVM cable kit use, and what does it cap in practice?

The kit carries HDMI video and USB keyboard or mouse signals over a single cable to the connected server.
