What this KVM switch does

The Tripp Lite B022-U08-IP is an 8-port NetDirector KVM switch that lets one local user control up to eight computers or servers from a single keyboard, mouse and monitor. It fits in a standard 1U rack space and supports video resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 for clear on-screen display across all connected systems.

Build and daily connections

The unit mounts in a 1U rack enclosure measuring 1.7 inches high, 17.0 inches wide and 6.0 inches deep, weighing 6.10 lb. A front USB port provides external data sharing to every attached computer, while a single RJ-45 network port enables optional IP remote access when paired with the Tripp Lite B051-000 module for up to 64 simultaneous remote users.

Expansion and interface limits

Daisy-chaining allows up to 32 switches to be linked together, expanding control to a maximum of 264 computers from one console. The digital KVM technology supports QXGA monitors and works with all major operating systems, though local access is limited to one user at a time and remote sessions require the separate IP module to function.
