  • First listed by manufacturer in 2015

HDBaseT HDMI Extender Kit

The Tripp Lite extender kit uses HDBaseT technology to transmit HDMI signals over standard Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a cabling, supporting 4K UHD and 1080p resolution at 60 Hz while also passing serial and IR control data between the transmitter and receiver units.

Installers needing long cable runs

Suited for AV integrators and server-room operators who must bridge distances beyond native HDMI limits without signal degradation. Not suited for buyers who need wireless transmission, fibre-based extension or HDMI 2.1 features such as variable refresh rate or 8K resolution support.

4K 60 Hz over category cable

The single specification that decides fit is the confirmed 4K and 1080p delivery at 60 Hz over Cat5e/6/6a; if the installation requires higher bandwidth, different cabling or a lower latency profile, this kit will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the 4K 60 Hz extender kit generate noticeable heat or fan noise when running continuously?

The unit is a passive HDBaseT transmitter and receiver pair with no internal fans, so it runs silently and produces only modest warmth during all-day operation.

What cables and power sources must I already have to use this extender kit?

You need a Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a patch cable between the two boxes, HDMI cables at each end, and a nearby mains outlet for each unit's supplied power adapter.

Will the 1080p 60 Hz signal pass through this extender if I keep my older 1080p display and source?

Yes, the kit supports 1080p at 60 Hz alongside 4K UHD, so existing 1080p equipment works without any configuration changes.
