Consider Length And Category Requirements

Buyers who need a longer run or a higher category rating such as Cat6 or Cat6a should look at other options. Installers requiring plenum-rated or shielded cable for specific building codes will need a different construction.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RJ-45 connectors on this 10 ft Cat5e cable without breaking the snagless boots?

Align the tab on each RJ-45 plug with the port notch, push straight in until you hear a click, and pull the cable body — not the boot — when removing to avoid damaging the molded strain relief.

When should I replace this Cat5e patch cable if the snagless boots or conductors degrade?

Replace the cable if the boot cracks, the clip no longer locks, you see kinked or exposed wires, or network tests show persistent errors on the 10 ft run.
