Tripp Lite N002-007-BK 7 ft Cat5e 350MHz network ethernet cable

What this cable does

This seven-foot Cat5e patch cable carries Ethernet signals at up to 350 MHz between two RJ45 ports. It suits home-office desks, small-business workstations or temporary links where a short, factory-terminated run is simpler than pulling bulk cable. The moulded strain relief protects the connector ends during frequent reconnection.

When to choose it over other lengths

A seven-foot run reaches from a wall jack or switch to a nearby device without the slack that longer cables create. It replaces shorter leads that fall short and longer ones that coil on the floor. The jump is worth it when the measured path is close to seven feet and a tidy, fixed-length patch keeps the rack or desk organised.

Installing and common pitfalls

Push each RJ45 plug until the latch clicks; the moulded boots guide the tab and reduce snagging. The only frequent issue is a bent or broken latch that prevents a secure lock, which usually means replacing the cable. No tools or configuration are required beyond seating the connectors fully.
