Home and office Cat6 patch cable

This 10 ft green Cat6 cable links computers, printers, consoles and network gear in a home or office. It supports 1000Base-T, 10/100Base-T, 100 Mbps TPDDI, 155 Mbps ATM, ISDN, voice and Token Ring Type 3 applications. Rated for 550 MHz and 1 Gbps, it meets IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.5 and ANSI/EIA/TIA 568 standards. Gold-plated contacts and staggered-pin plugs keep near-end crosstalk low.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, makes no noise and draws no power of its own. The 24 AWG 4-pair stranded UTP construction carries the signal without active components. Power consumption and thermal output are determined entirely by the connected devices. No fan, radiator or power supply is involved.

Build quality and daily handling

The PVC jacket and moulded integral strain relief protect the conductors during repeated plugging and routing. Male RJ45 connectors on both ends snap into standard Ethernet ports without adapters. Green colour coding helps identify the run in a busy patch panel. The cable is not shielded, so avoid routing it alongside high-voltage mains cables. It does not suit outdoor or direct-burial use.
