4 ft Cat 6 Patch Cable

This 4 ft Cat 6 Ethernet cable uses RJ45 male connectors on both ends and a blue snagless moulded jacket. It meets Category 6 cabling standards and is backward compatible with Cat 5e and Cat 5 networks. The short length suits desk-side connections between a computer and a switch or router.

Suits tight runs; not for long links

The four-foot reach works well for patch panels, wall plates or adjacent rack gear where slack must stay minimal. Installers who need to span rooms, cross ceilings or connect separate cabinets should select a longer cable instead.

Cat 6 rating decides fit

The Category 6 designation confirms the cable is built to handle Gigabit Ethernet speeds and the associated frequency requirements. If your installation calls for a higher category or a different connector type, this patch lead will not meet that spec.

Questions about this item

How do I install this 4 ft Cat6 cable without damaging the RJ45 connectors?

Align the RJ45 male plug with the port, press straight in until the snagless tab clicks, and route the 4 ft length to avoid sharp bends near the molded boots.

When will the RJ45 connectors or the Cat6 cable jacket need replacement?

Replace the patch cable if the snagless tabs break, the molded strain relief cracks, or the blue jacket shows kinks that affect the 4 ft run.

What performance limit appears first on a 4 ft Cat6 link under sustained Gigabit traffic?

The 4 ft Cat6 construction meets category 6 standards, so the link stays within Gigabit specs; the first limit is usually the connected switch or NIC port speed.
