5 ft Cat6 patch cable for wired networking

This 5 ft Cat6 cable connects computers, routers, switches or other RJ45 devices in a home or office network. The snagless molded boots protect the locking tabs during frequent plugging and unplugging. It is sold as a single gray cable ready for immediate use.

Passive cable with no power draw or noise

The cable operates completely passively, drawing no power and producing no audible noise. Signal integrity meets Cat6 Gigabit specifications across the full 5 ft length without active electronics. There are no thermal considerations for this component.

Fits standard RJ45 ports and tight cable runs

RJ45 male connectors on both ends plug directly into any standard Ethernet jack on PCs, laptops, NAS units or network gear. The slim 5 ft length keeps cable routing tidy on desks, in racks or along baseboards. Builders needing longer runs or different colours will require additional cables.

Questions about this item

How do I plug the snagless RJ45 connectors on the N201-005-GY into a tight patch panel without breaking the tabs?

Push the snagless boot straight in until you feel the latch click, then pull back gently to seat it; the moulded hood protects the tab so it will not catch on adjacent ports.

What upkeep does the 5 ft Cat6 patch cord need over time?

Inspect the grey jacket and moulded boots for kinks or cracks after moves, and replace the cable if the latch no longer holds or the conductors show through the insulation.

What is the first limit I will hit when running sustained gigabit traffic through this cable?

The 5 ft length keeps attenuation far below the Cat6 channel budget, so the first practical limit is physical wear on the snagless boots from repeated insertions.
