Right-angle HDMI adapter

The Tripp Lite P142-000-UP is a compact HDMI male-to-female coupler designed to redirect a cable upward by ninety degrees. It suits installers and home users who need to route a lead tight against a wall-mounted display or crowded AV rack without stressing the port.

Gold-plated connectors and one-inch depth

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain signal integrity across the HDMI 1.3 and 1.4 link. The adapter body sits just one inch deep when inserted, clearing low-profile mounts and recessed panels that would block a straight plug.

Passive design for 1080p signals

No external power is required; the unit draws nothing beyond the source device. It cleanly passes 1080p, 1080i and 720p video with digital audio, adding no active circuitry that could generate heat or noise.

Questions about this item

What HDMI versions does the P142-000-UP support and what resolutions are capped in practice?

The adapter supports HDMI 1.3 and 1.4, passing 1080p, 1080i and 720p signals through the gold-plated connectors.

How much clearance does the right-angle design need behind the display or source device?

The coupler measures one inch deep when plugged into a video port, so allow at least that much space behind the HDMI socket.

How do I install the male-to-female adapter without stressing the port?

Insert the HDMI male plug straight into the device socket, then route the attached cable downward along the chassis to avoid bending the connector.
