Audio Y Splitter Adapter for Home Theater

This Tripp Lite P314-012 cable connects a device with a 3.5mm stereo jack to a sound system using two RCA inputs. The 12 ft length provides flexible placement for home theater or AV setups. Molded connectors with built-in strain relief help protect the cable during regular use.

Suitable for Portable Devices and Stereo Systems

It suits users linking a PC, notebook, MP3 player or iPod to an amplifier or receiver with RCA phono sockets. Buyers needing a digital optical or coaxial connection should look at a different cable type. Anyone requiring a longer run than 12 ft will need an alternative solution.

Check Your Source and Amplifier Ports

Verify that your source device has a 3.5mm stereo output jack and that your audio system presents two RCA input sockets. The cable uses male connectors on all three ends, so no additional adapters are required for a direct link. Ensure the 12 ft reach matches the distance between your components.

Questions about this item

What device must I already have that provides a 3.5 mm stereo output for the P314-012 to connect?

You need a source such as a PC, notebook, MP3 player or iPod with a standard 3.5 mm stereo jack to plug the adapter's male 3.5 mm connector into.

Will the P314-012 work with an older amplifier that only has RCA inputs?

Yes, the adapter's two male RCA plugs connect directly to the left and right RCA inputs on legacy amplifiers or receivers.

How can I verify the Y splitter is passing both channels correctly after I plug it in?

Play a stereo test track and confirm distinct sound comes from both the left and right speakers connected to the RCA ends.
