The Tripp Lite P778-010 is a ten-foot combination cable designed to link a single computer to compatible NetDirector KVM switches. It targets administrators who manage rack-mounted servers or workstations from a shared console. The cable carries video, USB and PS/2 signals in one jacket, reducing clutter behind the rack.

HD15 VGA and legacy PS/2 limits

Video travels over an HD15 connector, so resolution and refresh rate are bound by the analogue VGA standard and the quality of the ten-foot run. Keyboard and mouse data can use either the USB Type A plug or the Mini-DIN PS/2 plugs, but not both simultaneously. The cable does not support digital video interfaces or pure USB HID switching without the PS/2 fallback.

Five-connector moulded build

The black cable terminates in five moulded connectors: HD18 for the switch side, HD15 VGA, USB Type A, and two Mini-DIN PS/2 plugs for keyboard and mouse. This fixed breakout means the USB and PS/2 tails occupy adjacent ports on the host, which can block neighbouring sockets on dense I/O panels.
