42U Rack Enclosure for Dense Server Deployments

The Tripp Lite SR42UB is a 42U rack enclosure built for data centres and server rooms that need maximum equipment density in a standard footprint. It accepts 19-inch rack gear across 42 usable units and ships fully assembled so it can be positioned and populated immediately. Black finish and numbered rack spaces simplify asset tracking.

Capacity and Load Limits

The frame supports 3000 lbs stationary and 2250 lbs rolling, giving ample headroom for heavy blade chassis, storage arrays and network switches. Vertical rails with square holes adjust in quarter-inch increments from 4 to 42 inches, letting you centre deep servers while keeping cable paths clear. Front-to-rear ventilation meets manufacturer airflow requirements, but the enclosure has no active cooling of its own.

Integration Into a Row or Aisle

Pre-installed casters and levelling feet let the 24-inch wide cabinet roll through a standard 7-foot doorway before being locked in place. Integrated baying tabs align multiple units into continuous rows for hot-aisle or cold-aisle layouts. Split rear doors and half-height side panels, all locking and keyed alike, allow placement close to walls while maintaining secure access. Buyers needing deeper bays or top-mounted exhaust ducts will need a different depth class.
