45U 19-inch 4-post open frame rack

The Tripp Lite SR4POST1224 is a 45U four-post open frame rack built from cold-rolled steel with a black powder-coated finish. It accepts standard 19-inch equipment using threaded 12-24 mounting holes and supports stationary loads up to 1,000 pounds. The self-squaring design includes bolt-down provisions and all assembly hardware.

Suits secure rooms needing high-density 19-inch

This rack suits IT managers who want unobstructed airflow and fast access to equipment in a locked room. Multiple units can be bolted side by side for high-density deployments. It is not for buyers who need lockable doors or side panels, nor for sites that require a rolling or enclosed cabinet.

Threaded 12-24 mounting holes decide fit

The rack provides threaded 12-24 holes on all four posts for standard 19-inch gear. Equipment that uses square holes, cage nuts or a different thread pattern will not mount without adapters. Verify your hardware matches 12-24 threads before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does the open-frame design of this SR4POST1224 produce any fan noise or heat of its own?

The rack is a passive steel frame with no fans or power supply, so it adds no operational noise or heat; only the equipment you install generates those.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install 19-inch gear into the threaded 12-24 holes?

You need 12-24 screws and matching cage nuts or washers for each device; the rack ships with assembly bolts only, not equipment-mounting screws.

Can I bay this 45U unit directly to an older rack of the same height?

Yes, the frame includes bolt-together provisions so multiple SR4POST1224 racks can be joined side by side when they share the same 45U height.
