Vertical wall-mount server rack

The Tripp Lite SRWF16U38 is a 16U low-profile vertical-mount enclosure that attaches to a wall and extends only 24 inches into the room. It accepts EIA-standard 19-inch equipment up to 35 inches deep while keeping the floor clear for tight wiring closets, retail back offices or classrooms.

Removable covers and dedicated patch-panel space

The top cover and front panel both come off for quick hardware access and the cover locks with the included keys to deter tampering. A separate 4U area at the top of the cabinet is reserved for patch panels while the main compartment provides 12U of rack space, and vented sides plus top, bottom and side cable ports support airflow and routing.

Suits sites with limited floor area and shallow

This cabinet fits locations that cannot spare a freestanding rack and need secure, organised mounting for servers, UPS units, battery packs or switches up to 35 inches deep. Installations requiring deeper hardware, higher load ratings than 400 pounds or more than 16U of total rack height should evaluate alternative enclosures.

Questions about this item

Will the 400-pound load rating on this 16U vertical rack need any structural checks over time?

The 400-pound capacity is a static steel-frame rating; no scheduled maintenance is required beyond periodic bolt-tightening on the wall anchors.

What stops me from filling all 16U before the 35-inch depth limit is reached?

Equipment deeper than 35 inches cannot be mounted, so the depth restriction is the first limit you hit regardless of remaining rack units.

How much heat builds up inside the 24-inch projection when the cabinet runs continuously?

Vented top, bottom and side panels provide passive airflow; no active cooling is included, so heat dissipation depends on room ventilation.
