Precision Radial Bearing

The Tritan 3870 2RS PRX is a radial ball bearing built to industry number 1658. It serves machinery that runs in oily or greasy environments and needs a 1.3125in bore. The alloy-steel rings and AISI 52100 balls handle a dynamic radial load of 3,369 lbf.

Sealed Inch Interface

The bearing uses an inch measurement system with a bore tolerance of +0/-0.00045in. Double contact seals keep lubricant in and contaminants out, but they add drag that limits maximum speed. No retaining ring is included, so axial location must be provided by the housing or shaft design.

ABEC 1 Load Rating

ABEC 1 precision sets the running accuracy and noise floor for this unit. The 3,369 lbf dynamic capacity is the single figure that tells you whether the bearing will survive the applied load and required life. Buyers who need tighter runout or higher speed ratings must select a higher ABEC class.

Questions about this item

Which bore diameter should I choose for a 1.3125 in shaft?

The bearing bore is 1.3125 in with a tolerance of +0/-0.00045 in, matching a 1 5/16 in shaft exactly.

What does the 369 lbf dynamic radial load capacity mean in use?

It is the maximum radial load the bearing can carry at rated life under normal oily or greasy conditions.

What does the ABEC 1 rating cap in practice?

ABEC 1 defines standard precision tolerances for bore, outer diameter and run-out; it does not limit speed or load beyond the published 369 lbf capacity.
