A steel 22-tooth sprocket with a 1 1/4in bore, keyway, and set screws for 40 chain
This Tritan sprocket is a finished-bore power-transmission component built for single-strand Chain 40 systems. It suits maintenance teams and machinery builders who need a direct replacement with a 1 1/4 in bore and integrated keyway. The black-oxide steel body and included set screws allow immediate installation on a matching shaft. Collectors of industrial hardware may also value the specific 22-tooth configuration.
The sprocket is cut for a 1/2 in chain pitch and a fixed 1 1/4 in maximum bore, so it only fits shafts of that exact diameter. Hub projection measures .716 in and hub diameter is 2 7/8 in, limiting the available space inside guards or adjacent components. Two set screws and a 1/4 in wide by 1/8 in deep keyway provide the sole locking method; no taper-lock or clamp options exist on this model.
With a 3.78 in outside diameter and 3.513 in pitch diameter, the 22-tooth design delivers a fixed speed ratio for Chain 40 drives. It handles standard single-strand loads within the chain’s rated working range but offers no extra teeth for reduced polygon effect or higher wrap angles. Builders needing different ratios, larger bores or multi-strand capacity must select another sprocket.

The 22-tooth design gives a 3.513 in pitch diameter and 3.78 in outside diameter on a 1 1/4 in bore. Fewer teeth reduce diameter and speed ratio; more teeth increase both. Match the tooth count to your required driven speed and shaft centre distance.
It is the effective diameter where the #40 chain engages. With a 1/2 in chain pitch, each revolution advances the chain 11 in, so driven speed equals motor speed divided by the driven-to-driver tooth ratio.
The bore only fits a 1 1/4 in shaft. The 1/4 in wide by 1/8 in deep keyway and two set screws lock rotation and axial position, so the shaft must be keyed and allow access for both screws.
