Compatible replacement for Canon GPR42

This two-pack of black toner cartridges replaces Canon GPR42, NPG56 and 4791B003AA originals. It fits Canon imageRUNNER Advance 4045, 4051, 4245 and 4251 devices. Offices needing high-volume monochrome output can install them directly without hardware changes. Buyers who require colour printing or a different cartridge form factor cannot use this product.

Standard yield and page coverage

Each cartridge delivers approximately 34200 pages at five percent coverage. The standard-yield drum unit is designed for consistent density across long print runs. No thermal, noise or power-draw data is provided for these consumables. Environments that need real-time energy monitoring or acoustics specifications will not find those figures here.

Quality assurance and defect guarantee

Cartridges undergo SMTC and ISO quality-assurance tests before shipping. A one-year manufacturer defect guarantee covers premature failure. No bundled software, drivers or cleaning accessories are included in the pack. IT managers who expect integrated fleet-management tools or automated supply-reordering services must source those separately.

Questions about this item

How do I install the GPR42 cartridge in my imageRUNNER Advance 4045 and what step do people often miss?

Open the front cover, pull the old cartridge straight out, shake the new GPR42 gently side to side, remove the sealing tape completely, then slide it in until it clicks; the step most often missed is forgetting to pull the full length of sealing tape before insertion.

What part will need replacement after I print the rated 34200 pages at 5% coverage?

The toner supply inside each GPR42 cartridge is depleted at that yield, so you replace the whole cartridge; the drum unit is integrated, so no separate drum change is required.

What print-quality limit appears first during a long, continuous run on the 4251?

As the toner level drops toward the 34200-page rating, fading or light streaks on solid black areas typically appear before any mechanical issue.
