Heavy Duty Tarp 160GSM PE

The Tuff Stuff SGT0608 is a heavy duty tarp built for everyday outdoor protection. It suits campers, builders and homeowners who need a durable cover for equipment, firewood or temporary shelter. The silver and green polyethylene sheet resists mildew and water across a 6' x 8' area. One piece is supplied per pack.

Roped hem with aluminum eyelets

Heat sealed joints and a roped hem run the full perimeter, giving the sheet structural strength at every attachment point. Aluminum eyelets spaced every three feet allow secure tie down without tearing the material. The two tone finish provides a reflective silver face and a green face for visibility or aesthetic preference. No additional fixings are included in the pack.

Coverage and limits

The 6' x 8' dimensions cover small roofs, wood piles, pool surfaces or camping ground sheets with a single layer. Heavy duty construction at approximately five ounces per square yard handles wind, rain and sun exposure for seasonal use. It is not suited for permanent structural roofing or loads that exceed the tear resistance of the polyethylene weave. Buyers needing larger continuous coverage or reinforced corners for industrial lifting should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the aluminium eyelets on the 6' x 8' tarp need replacing after prolonged outdoor use?

The eyelets are aluminium and rust proof, so they resist corrosion; inspect them periodically for deformation if the tarp is tensioned continuously.

What is the first limit reached when the 160GSM PE sheet is left tensioned in strong wind for days?

The polyethylene fabric is tear resistant but not stretch proof; sustained high wind loads will cause permanent elongation before the heat sealed joints or roped hem fail.

Does the silver-green surface stay cool and quiet when the tarp covers a roof all day in summer?

The silver side reflects sunlight to reduce heat build up underneath, while the PE material makes no noise of its own; only wind flap creates sound.
