A DeviceNet I/O module with eight PNP inputs and eight 1.4 A outputs in an IP67-rated housing
The Turck FDNP-S0808H-WW is a compact DeviceNet I/O module that provides eight digital PNP inputs and eight digital outputs rated at 1.4 A each. It uses M12 connectors with two ports per connector and includes a separate actuator power supply. The module is designed for industrial automation systems that require distributed digital signal handling over DeviceNet.
This module suits installations where vibration, shock, and exposure to dust or water demand an IP67-rated housing with encapsulated electronics. Builders who need analogue signals, higher output current per channel, or a different fieldbus protocol should look at other products because this unit only handles digital I/O on DeviceNet.
The defining specification is the eight digital outputs each capable of delivering 1.4 A, combined with eight PNP inputs on a single DeviceNet node. This channel count and current rating determine whether the module can drive the required actuators and sensors without additional expansion blocks.

The module uses M12 connection technology for signal and power, with two ports per connector. Its fibre-glass reinforced PA6 housing and metal connectors are rated IP67, so allow space for the M12 cables and gland seals when planning the mounting layout.
Connect the actuator supply to the dedicated M12 power port; the module electronics are encapsulated and the housing is vibration and shock resistant. A common oversight is leaving the separate actuator feed disconnected, which disables the 1.4 A outputs while the inputs still appear active on DeviceNet.
The M12 connectors and cable glands are the primary wear items; the encapsulated electronics and PA6 housing are built for the full temperature range. Inspect connector seals and locking nuts periodically, and replace any that show cracking or corrosion to maintain IP67 protection.
