8-port Gigabit PoE switch

The Tycon Power TP-SW8GAT/24-SFP is an 8-port Gigabit PoE switch built for networks that need both standard and passive power on the same hardware. Each port can be configured for 802.3at or 24 V passive PoE up to 30 W. It suits installers deploying mixed camera or access-point fleets from a single switch.

Configurable PoE modes

The ability to select 802.3at or 24 V passive PoE per port lets you power standard-compliant devices and legacy 24 V equipment without separate injectors. This reduces cabling and the number of power supplies needed at the cabinet. No management software or licence is mentioned in the supplied data.

Installation notes

The unit operates from a 24 V supply, so a compatible power source must be provided separately. Ensure the total connected load stays within the 30 W per-port limit and the supply can deliver the aggregate power. No rack ears, SFP modules or configuration cables are listed in the package contents.

Questions about this item

Will the 24 V passive PoE ports need a firmware update to stay compatible with newer powered devices?

The switch uses fixed 802.3 at and 24 V passive PoE standards, so no firmware changes are required for compatibility.

What limits total output when all eight ports run at 30 W each?

The 24 V input supply caps the combined PoE budget, so sustained 30 W on every port needs a source that can deliver the full aggregate power.

How much heat does the unit produce when all eight PoE ports are loaded continuously?

With 30 W per port the switch dissipates the full PoE budget as heat, so adequate ventilation is needed for all-day operation.
