Compact indoor camera

The Ubiquiti Networks model 1 is a 1080P WiFi network camera measuring 1.2 inches on each side. It connects wirelessly on the 2.4 GHz band and records continuously to a micro SD card up to 64 GB. Motion detection sends push alerts to a phone app for remote viewing.

Upgrade from basic monitors

This camera replaces simple audio-only baby monitors or dummy units that cannot record video. The jump is worth it when you need visual confirmation of activity, night vision in darkness, and a local recording backup without monthly cloud fees.

Wireless and storage limits

The 2.4 GHz WiFi link tops out at 54 Mbps, so throughput drops with distance or interference. Recording stops when the 64 GB card fills unless footage is overwritten. The unit only supports legacy WEP security at 64 or 128 bits.
