Carrier backhaul radio

The Ubiquiti Networks AF-5X-US is a 5 GHz carrier backhaul radio built for long-range point-to-point links. It delivers up to 500+ Mbps maximum throughput with 17.1 Mbps/MHz spectral efficiency using proprietary Hybrid Division Duplexing technology. The unit achieves 1,000,000 max packets per second with 1024 QAM modulation.

Compatibility check

Verify you have a 5 GHz RocketDish RD-5G30 or RD-5G34 antenna for direct upgrade paths. The radio also works with airFiber Slant 45 antennas for alternative deployments. Confirm PoE power sourcing equipment is available at the installation site. Ensure clear line-of-sight for the 5.93 GHz operating frequency.

Ideal for ISP backhaul

This radio suits wireless ISPs and network operators deploying carrier-grade backhaul links. It fits teams needing flexible channel width configuration with independent TX and RX frequency placement. Buyers requiring 2.4, 3, 4 or 11 GHz spectrum options should select a different airFiber X model. Installers without antenna mounting infrastructure should look elsewhere.
