2K Indoor Security Camera

The Ubiquiti Networks GP6 is a 2K indoor security camera designed for baby monitoring, pet watching and general home security. It connects via dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and includes Bluetooth pairing for initial setup. The camera requires a mains power connection and is not battery operated.

Simple Bluetooth Setup

Installation follows a three-step process that uses Bluetooth to join the camera to the home network. The device supports ONVIF for integration with third-party recording software. A potential limitation is the wireless data rate capped at 54 Mbps, which may affect streaming stability on congested networks.

10-Metre Night Vision & Pan-Tilt Coverage

The camera provides 2K resolution with 10-metre night vision and a motorised head that rotates 340° horizontally and 80° vertically. AI motion tracking follows detected movement across this range. Local recording requires a separately purchased SD card; cloud storage is available by subscription after a 14-day free trial.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the GP6 is recording in 2K after I finish the three-step setup?

Open the Osaio app live view and verify the stream shows 2K Ultra HD resolution; the app also displays a recording indicator when motion-triggered clips are saved to the inserted SD card or active cloud plan.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately to store footage?

The package contains one GP6 camera and its power adapter for 100–240 V AC; a microSD card for local storage is not included and a cloud subscription is optional after the 14-day free trial.

Should I choose the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band for the most stable connection with this camera?

The GP6 supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi; use 5 GHz when the camera is close to the router for higher throughput, otherwise 2.4 GHz provides better range through walls.
