Ubiquiti Networks LAP-120 LiteAP ac 5 GHz 2x2 MIMO 120° Sector Access Point

SKU CH-CH10-0M5GT

A 5 GHz sector access point with a 120° 2×2 MIMO antenna, 16 dBi gain and a single Gigabit Ethernet port

  • 120° sector coverage serves wide areas
  • 2x2 MIMO antenna links multiple CPEs
  • 16 dBi antenna gain extends reach
  • 420 g lightweight design eases mounting
  • 7 W max power consumption saves energy

Purpose and audience

The Ubiquiti LiteAP ac is a 5 GHz sector access point built for point-to-multipoint wireless links. It targets WISPs and network integrators deploying airMAX AC customer-premises equipment across a 120° coverage zone.

Deciding specification

The antenna provides 16 dBi gain with 2x2 MIMO and a maximum transmit power of 25 dBm, delivering the link budget that determines whether a sector can serve the required subscriber distance and density.

Installation and common issues

The integrated radio and three-axis bracket assemble in seconds without tools; only a single wrench is needed for pole mounting. Installers sometimes underestimate the 7 W power draw when sizing PoE injectors or forget to align the 120° azimuth precisely, which reduces sector throughput.

Questions about this item

What does the 120° sector coverage mean for the 2x2 MIMO antenna in a live deployment?

The 120° sector pattern lets the 2x2 MIMO antenna serve multiple airMAX AC CPEs across a wide horizontal area while the three-axis alignment fine-tunes the beam for each site.

How does the single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port limit real-world throughput?

The Gigabit Ethernet port caps the wired backhaul at 1000 Mbps so aggregate wireless traffic cannot exceed that rate in practice.

What mounting hardware and pole sizes does the included kit support?

The supplied pole-mounting kit attaches with a single wrench and the three-axis bracket adjusts azimuth, elevation and tilt on standard poles.
