Product identity

The Ubiquiti Networks lbe-5ac-gen2 is a 5 GHz wireless range extender and media bridge built for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links. It integrates a 23 dBi directional antenna with 2x2 MIMO AirMax AC technology and a single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port for wired backhaul.

Who this suits and who it does not

Installers deploying long-range wireless bridges between buildings or across campuses will benefit from the high-gain antenna and flexible two-axis mounting with a built-in bubble level. Buyers needing omnidirectional coverage for local client access or devices that operate on other frequency bands should consider other product types.

Deciding specification

The 23 dBi antenna gain determines whether the link budget closes over the required distance; lower-gain alternatives will not reach the same range under identical conditions.

Questions about this item

What pole diameters does the two-mount system with bubble level accommodate?

The two-mount system provides adjustment flexibility along both axes and includes a built-in bubble level for quick and easy alignment.

What is the correct order for connecting the 10/100/1000 Ethernet port and powering the unit?

Connect the Ethernet cable to the 10/100/1000 port, then apply power; the dedicated Wi-Fi management radio allows initial configuration before final alignment.

When should the directional antenna pattern be re-checked for noise immunity?

The 23 dBi directional antenna pattern maintains noise immunity; re-check alignment using the bubble level after severe weather or physical disturbance.
