Indoor Cat 6 cable for structured wiring

The Ubiquiti U-Cable-C6-CMR is a Category 6 UTP cable built for permanent indoor runs. It suits installers and network owners who need a single 1000 ft reel for multi-room or multi-floor projects. The bare-wire ends require field termination with compatible connectors.

CMR rating limits use to riser spaces

The jacket meets Communications Multipurpose Cable, Riser (CMR) fire standards, so the cable can travel vertically between floors in non-plenum areas. It is not rated for plenum spaces, so air-handling ducts and ceiling returns need a different cable type. The standard supports 1000BASE-T Ethernet up to 1 Gbit/s over the full length.

Solid 23 AWG copper with anti-crosstalk divider

Each pair uses solid 23 AWG copper conductors separated by a central divider that reduces pair-to-pair interference. The thicker solid wire demands Category 6 rated connectors and a punch-down tool for reliable terminations. The white CMR jacket resists flame spread and is marked for easy identification during installation.

Questions about this item

Which length and gauge should I choose for a multi-floor run?

The reel is 1000 ft (305 m) of 23 AWG solid copper, CMR-rated for vertical shafts between floors.

What does the 1 Gbit/s rating mean once the cable is terminated?

It supports 1000BASE-T Ethernet up to 1 Gbps when paired with Category 6 connectors and proper installation.

How does the CMR jacket affect where I can run the cable?

The fire-resistant riser jacket allows vertical runs in non-plenum spaces across multiple floors.
