Asymmetric 2.488 Gbps downstream

The ITU-T G.984.2 GPON standard fixes the line rates at 2.488 Gbps transmit and 1.244 Gbps receive, so aggregate throughput cannot exceed those figures. Burst-mode reception at 1310 nm and continuous-mode transmission at 1490 nm share the single fibre, meaning wavelength planning must avoid overlap with other PON services. Digital diagnostics expose RSSI and signal-detect status but do not alter the fundamental rate ceiling.

SC/UPC receptacle on a hot-pluggable SFP housing

The module draws power from a single 3.3 V supply and fits standard SFP cages, allowing insertion or removal without powering down the chassis.
