Compact NVR for UniFi Protect deployments

The Ubiquiti Networks UNVR-Instant-US is a compact network video recorder designed for UniFi Protect installations. It supports up to six 4K cameras or fifteen Full HD cameras, plus fifty access hubs. A single 3.5-inch drive bay provides local storage with data protection, while an integrated 6-port PoE switch powers connected cameras directly.

Verify PoE budget and camera count before ordering

The built-in PoE switch delivers a total budget of 40 watts, with a maximum of 15.4 watts per downlink port. Confirm that the combined power draw of your planned cameras stays within this limit. The unit requires a universal AC input of 100-240VAC at 1.5A maximum and consumes up to 9 watts itself, with 11 watts reserved for the drive.

Fits desktop, wall or DIN-rail mounting with HDMI

The recorder includes wall and DIN-rail brackets for flexible placement in racks or cabinets. One GbE uplink connects to your core switch, while six GbE PoE downlink ports handle cameras without separate injectors. An HDMI port enables a local view port on a 4K display, and Bluetooth plus a 1.14-inch screen assist with initial setup and status checks.

What does the 3840 x 2160 maximum resolution mean for live viewing?
