Covert 1080P Indoor Camera

The Ubiquiti Networks W3 is a covert IP camera designed for discreet indoor monitoring. Its ultra-compact form factor allows placement in tight spaces such as bookshelf gaps or behind ornaments. The device connects via 2.4 GHz wireless Wi-Fi and supports remote viewing on Windows 98 through XP systems. It suits homeowners or small offices needing hidden surveillance without prominent hardware.

140° Lens and 256GB Storage Headroom

A 140° wide-angle lens captures broad coverage at 1080P resolution, while infrared LEDs enable night monitoring. Motion detection triggers real-time alerts and automatic recording to a Micro SD card up to 256GB. Loop recording manages capacity continuously. The 54Mbps wireless data rate handles the video stream, though heavy concurrent network traffic may reduce responsiveness. The camera lacks 5GHz support despite some marketing references.

Remote Software and Shutter Control

Bundled remote software provides live viewing, playback and shutter control from a PC. No Micro SD card is included, so buyers must supply their own storage media. The software runs on legacy Windows versions only, limiting compatibility with modern operating systems. Outdoor use is mentioned in specifications, but the camera type is listed as indoor, so exposure to weather is not advised.

How can I verify the 1080P feed and 140° wide-angle view are working after mounting the W3?

Open the remote software on your phone or PC, confirm the live stream shows 1080P resolution and the full 140° field of view, then trigger a motion alert to test recording.
