Extends 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 coverage at 5.40 Gbit/s with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, IPX6-rated pole-mountable design and 24 W PoE power
The Ubiquiti Wave AP Gen2 is a single-band 5 GHz wireless range extender rated at 5.40 Gbit/s. It runs the Wi-Fi 6 standard to extend coverage where a primary router cannot reach. The unit is designed for pole mounting and carries an IPX6 weather rating for outdoor deployment.
Power arrives through 48V DC PoE at 24 W, so no separate mains adapter is required. The single RJ-45 port operates at 10 Gigabit Ethernet, letting the wireless link feed a high-speed wired backbone without bottlenecking throughput.
The enclosure measures 6.2" W x 3.9" D x 11.3" H and weighs 3.31 lb, built to withstand rain and dust per the IPX6 rating. Pole-mount hardware integrates directly with the chassis, so installation on a mast or wall bracket is straightforward and secure.

The unit draws 24 W via 48V DC PoE; the injector and Cat6a cable are solid-state with no moving parts, so they rarely need replacement unless physically damaged.
The 5 GHz radio tops out at 5.40 Gbit/s, so the 10 Gbit/s RJ-45 link will idle while the wireless link remains the bottleneck during continuous transfers.
The sealed IPX6 housing relies on passive convection; at 24 W it runs warm to the touch but generates no fan noise because there are no active cooling components.
