USB-C 3-in-1 hub for laptops and tablets

The Ugreen 8541678344 adapter adds a 4K HDMI output, a USB 3.0 data port and a USB-C charging port to any device with a USB-C socket that supports DP Alt Mode. It works with MacBook, iMac, iPad Pro, Chromebook and many Windows ultrabooks from 2015 onward. All three ports operate simultaneously for display, peripherals and power.

Check your USB-C port supports video alt mode

The hub needs a host port that carries DisplayPort Alternate Mode; plain USB 2.0 or power-only Type-C sockets will not drive the HDMI output. Verify your laptop, tablet or phone specification lists DP Alt Mode or video-out over USB-C. The adapter draws power for its own operation from the host, so the host must remain connected.

Aluminium body aids heat dissipation during

The black aluminium shell measures 23 L x 12 W x 1.2 H centimeters and weighs 80 grams, making it easy to carry in a laptop sleeve. HDMI, USB-A and USB-C connectors are arranged side by side on a short cable tail, reducing strain on the host port. The USB-C charging port accepts up to 87 W for laptop power delivery while the hub is active.

Questions about this item

Does the Ugreen 8541678344 hub come with any extra cables or do I need to buy an HDMI cable separately?

The package contains one Ugreen 8541678344 adapter only; an HDMI cable for the 4K 30 Hz output and a USB-C power cable for the 87 W charging port must be supplied by the user.

How do I decide between this 3-in-1 model and a larger hub with more ports?

Choose this 8541678344 when you need exactly three simultaneous connections — 4K 30 Hz HDMI, 5 Gbps USB 3.0 data, and 87 W USB-C pass-through charging — in a single 80 g aluminium unit.

Will the 4K 30 Hz HDMI port drive a 3840 x 2160 monitor at 60 Hz if I lower the resolution?

The HDMI output is specified at 3840 x 2160 / 30 Hz; it cannot reach 60 Hz at any resolution, so a 60 Hz panel will run at 30 Hz or fall back to a lower refresh rate.
