What the speaker is and who it serves

The Ultimate Ears Boom 3 is a portable Bluetooth speaker finished in Lagoon Blue. It delivers 360-degree sound through two 2-inch drivers and two 2-inch by 4-inch passive radiators, reaching a maximum level of 90 dBA. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 15 hours of playback per charge via Micro USB. The IP67 rating means it is dustproof, waterproof to a depth allowing 30-minute submersion, and it floats.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers wanting a rugged, grab-and-go speaker for outdoor use will value the tough fabric, drop-test certification, and the Magic Button for on-device playback control. The ability to pair eight devices and connect two simultaneously helps groups share music. Users who need a wired auxiliary input, USB-C charging, speakerphone functionality, or a longer battery runtime should consider other options.

The specification that decides fit

The IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating combined with a floating design is the defining feature. If the speaker must survive immersion in water, sand, or mud — poolside, beach, or job-site conditions — this unit meets that requirement. If full submersion protection is unnecessary, a non-rugged model may offer different connectivity or charging features at a similar size.
