55 mm circular UV filter

This 55 mm circular UV filter blocks ultraviolet light to reduce haze and protect the front element of a lens. It fits cameras and camcorders that accept a 55 mm thread. The HD optical glass maintains image clarity while shielding the lens from dust and scratches. It is a straightforward accessory for everyday shooting.

Suitable for 55 mm thread lenses

Photographers and videographers with lenses or camcorders that have a 55 mm filter thread will find this filter a direct fit. It is not intended for lenses with a different thread diameter, for square or rectangular filter systems, or for shooters who need creative effects such as polarisation or neutral density.

55 mm thread size

The only specification that determines compatibility is the 55 mm circular thread size. Verify that the front of your lens or camcorder is marked with this exact diameter before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Which 55mm HD UV Ultraviolets lens filter version should I choose?

The single model offered is the Ultimaxx HD UV Ultraviolets circular filter sized at 55 mm, designed to fit both camcorders and cameras with matching filter threads.

What does the UV filter effect actually do when the filter is on my lens?

The UV effect blocks ultraviolet light that can cause a bluish haze in outdoor images, while also serving as a clear protective layer for the front element of the lens.

What thread standard does the 55 mm circular filter use and what does that limit?

The filter uses a standard 55 mm pitch thread, so it only mounts on lenses or adapters with a matching 55 mm front thread diameter.
