SKU CH-9T43-Q7X0V

13-inch gas strut provides 22 lbs lift force for hoods, RV doors or cabinets with adjustable soft-close speed

  • Holds 22 lbs per strut with 98 N force
  • 13 inch extended length fits many lids and hatches
  • Installs in minutes using basic hand tools
  • Adjustable soft-close speed for controlled operation
  • Works from -25 °C to 70 °C in all seasons

Universal gas strut for lids and hatches

This 13-inch gas strut supplies 98N of force to hold open vehicle lids, RV compartments, camper windows or cabinet doors. It suits owners who need a single replacement support that fits a standard 8mm mounting hole. The black metal housing resists corrosion across a wide temperature range.

Replaces worn or missing lift supports

Swapping out a failed strut restores smooth, controlled opening and prevents heavy lids from slamming shut. The upgrade is worth it when the original support no longer holds the panel at the desired angle or when a compartment has no factory stay at all. One unit handles 10kg per mounting point.

Fits between existing brackets with simple tools

Installation uses common hand tools and the supplied 6mm rod with 8mm hole centres. The 33cm extended length and 20cm compressed length must match the hinge geometry of the application. Adjustable slow-close speed lets you fine-tune the final motion without extra hardware.

Questions about this item

What mounting-hole diameter do the 13-inch gas struts require?

Each end fitting needs an 8 mm / 0.31 inch installation hole for the mounting bolt or ball stud.

Why must the strut not be compressed by hand before fitting?

The internal gas pressure only allows compression after the strut is securely mounted; forcing it beforehand can damage the seal.

What temperature range should be considered for long-term performance?

The strut is rated for continuous operation from -25 °C to 70 °C; exposure outside this range may shorten service life.
