DC power extension for 4.8 mm x 1.7 mm jacks

This 1.2 m cable carries a male 4.8 mm by 1.7 mm barrel plug on one end and stripped tinned leads on the other. It suits installers who need to bridge a device to a power distribution box or adapter without soldering. The 18 AWG pure copper conductors handle typical low-voltage camera and DVR loads. Buyers whose equipment uses a different barrel size or a locking connector cannot use this cord.

18 AWG gauge with magnetic noise suppression

The 4.0 mm diameter cable uses 18 AWG copper for reliable current delivery over its 1.2 m length. A ferrite ring near the plug attenuates high-frequency noise on the power line, which helps keep video feeds clean in CCTV runs. The flame-retardant PVC jacket resists aging and stays flexible for routing. Runs longer than 1.2 m or loads exceeding the wire gauge capacity will need a heavier cable.

Stripped ends speed up terminal wiring

The tinned pigtail ends insert directly into screw terminals or spring clamps, eliminating crimping time on site. The male barrel slides into any matching 4.8 mm by 1.7 mm female jack on cameras, DVRs or universal adapters. No additional connectors or tools are required beyond a screwdriver for the terminal block. Builds that demand a pre-fitted fork terminal or a different plug polarity will need a separate lead.

Questions about this item

Will the 4.8mm x 1.7mm male plug fit the female power jack on my existing DVR or CCTV camera?

The cord uses a 4.8mm outside diameter and 1.7mm inside diameter male plug, matching devices that specify the same barrel size.

How can I verify the magnetic ring is suppressing high-frequency noise after I connect the cable?

A reduction in video artefacts or audio hum on the connected camera or recorder indicates the ferrite core is attenuating interference on the 18AWG copper conductors.

Does the package include a power adapter or only the 1.2m extension cord with stripped and tinned ends?

The box contains one 1.2 metre cable with a 4.8mm x 1.7mm male barrel plug on one end and pre-tinned leads on the other; no power supply is included.
