Unique-Bargains Mylar Tape 50mm Black 50m

SKU CH-9PXB-PQXB3

Single-sided black polyester tape, 50 mm wide by 50 m long, withstands 130 °C and meets 94V-0 flammability rating

  • Withstands 130 °C continuous heat
  • 5 kV breakdown voltage insulates high-voltage parts
  • 94V-0 flammability rating resists fire spread
  • 50 m roll covers large wiring jobs
  • 06 mm thin film fits tight spaces

Electrical Insulation Tape

This 50 mm wide polyester film tape carries a 5.5 kV breakdown voltage and a 94V-0 flammability rating, making it suitable for wrapping transformers, motors and capacitors. The acrylic adhesive provides a peel strength below 250 N per metre and withstands continuous temperatures up to 130 °C.

Thickness Options

The roll is offered in two substrate thicknesses of 0.06 mm and 0.08 mm, so the buyer must select the gauge that matches the insulation clearance and mechanical protection required by their specific winding or component layout.

Thermal And Electrical Performance

At the rated 130 °C the tape retains its dielectric strength and the 94V-0 rating confirms self-extinguishing behaviour in standard test conditions. The 100 % elongation figure indicates the film stretches significantly before breaking, absorbing mechanical stress during thermal cycling.

Questions about this item

How does the 5.5 kV breakdown voltage behave once the tape is wrapped on a coil?

The 5.5 kV rating means the polyester film withstands that potential across its 0.06 mm or 0.08 mm thickness without arcing, so a standard layer on a transformer winding holds the rated voltage.

What does the 94V-0 flammability rating limit in practice?

94V-0 means the tape self-extinguishes within ten seconds after a vertical flame test and does not drip burning particles, meeting the basic UL 94 requirement for electrical insulation.

Will the 50 mm width fit a standard transformer bobbin?

At 50 mm wide the roll matches common bobbin widths; the 0.06 mm or 0.08 mm thickness adds minimal build so it wraps cleanly on typical core dimensions.
