Food-Grade Silicone Tubing

This platinum-cured silicone tube is made for food, beverage, laboratory and pharmaceutical transfer tasks. It meets FDA and WRAS approvals for hot and cold drinking water contact. The translucent material resists yellowing and peroxide by-products. Builders needing reinforced pressure hose or non-food industrial grades should look elsewhere.

3 mm bore, 3 metre length

The 3 mm internal diameter and 1.5 mm wall give a 6 mm outer diameter for use with compatible push-fit or barbed fittings. It handles intermittent temperatures up to 200 °C (392 °F) and stays flexible down to -60 °C (-76 °F). Systems that require higher flow rates or larger bore sizes will need different tubing.

Platinum-cured construction

Platinum curing gives high tear strength, a high-gloss finish and excellent clarity for visual flow checks. The hydrophobic surface reduces residue build-up and extends life in peristaltic pump applications. Installations needing coloured coding, sterile packaging or specific hardness ratings are not covered by this product.

Questions about this item

Will the 3 mm internal diameter and 1.5 mm wall thickness fit the barbed fittings on my existing peristaltic pump?

The tube has a 3 mm bore and 1.5 mm wall, giving a 6 mm outside diameter; match those dimensions to your pump’s barb size for a secure push-fit.

How can I confirm the platinum-cured silicone is performing correctly after installation?

Check that the tube remains transparent and flexible from -60 °C to 200 °C, shows no yellowing, and delivers leak-free flow without peroxide odour.

Does the 3-metre length arrive as a single coil, and are clamps or connectors included?

The product is supplied as one 3-metre length of tubing only; hose clamps, barbed fittings or quick-connect couplings must be purchased separately.
