12-metre OM4 fibre cable for 100 G links

This twelve-metre OM4 multimode cable carries 100 G traffic between LC ports. It suits data-centre cross-connects, campus backbones and high-density patch panels that need reliable short-reach bandwidth.

Sustained 100 G throughput

OM4 graded-index glass keeps modal dispersion low so the link holds full line rate over the full length without the errors that appear on lower-grade fibre under continuous load. The ceramic ferrules maintain stable alignment when panels are density-packed and temperatures shift.

LC duplex connectors and aqua jacket

Colour-coded LC duplex plugs snap into standard transceivers and patch panels without tools. The aqua OM4 jacket lets technicians identify the cable class at a glance during moves, adds or changes. Bend-insensitive construction tolerates tight routing in cable managers and zero-U trays.

Questions about this item

Does the LC duplex connector generate any heat or noise during continuous 100G operation?

No, this is a passive optical cable with no active electronics, so it produces no heat and no audible noise regardless of how long it runs.

What transceivers or patch-panel adapters must I already have to use this LC duplex OM4 cable?

You need LC-compatible transceiver ports or patch-panel adapters at each end; the cable itself is simply the fibre link between them.

Will this OM4 12 m link work reliably with older 10 G transceivers I already own?

Yes, OM4 fibre is fully backward-compatible with 10 G and other lower-speed Ethernet or Fibre Channel transceivers that use LC connectors.
