Direct replacement for KENWOOD RM-Z20020

This universal remote is a direct replacement for the original KENWOOD RM-Z20020. It replicates every button and function of the factory handset. The unit arrives pre-programmed so it works immediately after inserting batteries. It suits anyone who has lost or damaged the original remote.

Controls one device via infrared

The remote supports a single device using infrared transmission. It handles all standard playback, volume and menu operations for that component. It does not control multiple pieces of equipment or operate through walls or cabinets. Buyers needing multi-device macros or RF capability should look elsewhere.

AAA powered with twelve-month guarantee

Two AAA batteries power the handset and are the only maintenance required. The lightweight plastic casing fits a typical living-room setup and withstands daily handling. A twelve-month guarantee covers defects in materials or workmanship. No special mounting or pairing steps are needed.

Questions about this item

Will this remote work alongside the other infrared remotes I already use for my KENWOOD system?

Yes, it uses standard infrared signals so it will not interfere with other IR remotes you keep for the same equipment.

How can I confirm the remote is functioning correctly once I put the batteries in?

Point it at the KENWOOD device and press any button; the unit should respond immediately if the remote is working as intended.

Does the package include the AAA batteries or do I need to buy them separately?

The remote is supplied ready-to-use with functions pre-installed, but AAA batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.
