Direct replacement for SOUNDWARE XS 21

This universal remote is a direct replacement for the Boston Acoustic SOUNDWARE XS 21, part 120003555. It replicates every button and function of the original handset. The unit arrives pre-programmed so it works immediately after batteries are inserted. It is intended for owners who need a like-for-like substitute.

Infrared control with AAA power

The remote uses infrared wireless technology to communicate with the audio system. It is powered by a single AAA battery, which is not included in the package. Infrared operation requires a clear line of sight to the device sensor. There are no wireless pairing steps or radio-frequency setup procedures.

Supports one device only

The handset controls exactly one device, so it cannot consolidate multiple home-theatre components. Build quality matches a standard replacement remote with a conventional button layout. Users who need macro programming, backlit keys, or multi-device control should look elsewhere. The plastic casing and membrane keys are designed for everyday living-room use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the remote for the SOUNDWARE XS 21 system?

Insert two AAA batteries into the compartment, observing the polarity markings. The unit arrives pre-programmed with the 120003555 codes, so no setup steps are required.

What maintenance will the remote need over time?

Replace the AAA batteries when the infrared range noticeably drops. Keep the emitter window clean and avoid liquid spills on the keypad.

What is the first limit I will hit during heavy daily use?

Battery life becomes the limiting factor; expect to change the AAA cells every few months depending on how often you press the 21 buttons.
