8-Port Industrial Serial Converter

The USBGear SA-8PXTB adds eight configurable serial ports to a host computer through a single USB 2.0 connection. Each port operates independently in RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 modes, supporting 3-wire, 4-wire or 2-wire wiring schemes. It is designed for engineers and system integrators connecting PLCs, sensors or legacy equipment in industrial automation and laboratory environments.

USB 2.0 Upstream with Daisy-Chain Expansion

The rugged metal enclosure mounts in panels or racks and draws power from the upstream USB Type-B port, which uses a screw-lock mechanism to resist vibration. A downstream USB 2.0 port allows additional converters to be daisy-chained, expanding the serial network without consuming extra host ports. Terminal block connectors provide secure, custom wiring for each of the eight channels.

128-Byte FIFO Buffers and 921.6Kbps Throughput

Built-in 128-byte FIFO buffers and hardware-based auto transceiver turnaround maintain data integrity at baud rates up to 921.6Kbps per port. LED indicators give immediate visual confirmation of link activity and signal status. The package includes the converter unit and mounting hardware; driver software and detailed configuration utilities are available from the manufacturer's support resources.
