Dual-Band Whip Antenna Pack

This pack supplies two flexible whip antennas for handheld two-way radios. Each unit uses an SMA male connector with a centre pin and covers the 136-174 MHz and 400-470 MHz transmit bands. The antennas are built for operators who need a direct replacement on compatible Yaesu, BaoFeng and Icom handsets.

Frequency Limits and Power Handling

Transmit coverage stops at 174 MHz on VHF and 470 MHz on UHF; the 120, 150, 300, 450 and 900 MHz ranges are receive-only. Maximum transmitter power is 10 W, with stated gain of 2.15 dBi on the lower band and 2.5 dBi on the higher band. Users needing transmit capability outside the listed dual-band windows must select a different antenna.

Installation Notes and Common Issues

The SMA male fitting screws onto the radio’s female jack in seconds, but the centre-pin definition of “male” can confuse buyers expecting external threads. Verify the radio’s connector gender before ordering. The flexible whip adds 15.4 inches of length, which may snag on gear or vehicle interiors during mobile use.

Questions about this item

Should I buy the single antenna or the 2-pack?

The product is sold only as a 2-pack containing two NA-772 SMA-male antennas.

Will the 2.15 dBi gain on VHF and 2.5 dBi on UHF noticeably extend my handheld range?

The gain figures indicate modest signal improvement over a stock rubber duck, helping marginal contacts but not creating line-of-sight where none exists.

Does the SMA male connector fit my radio's SMA female jack, and what power limit applies?

Yes, the SMA male center pin mates with standard SMA female radio jacks, and the antenna is rated for up to 10 W maximum power output.
