Desktop Rapid Charger for Yaesu Radios

This desktop rapid charger is designed for Yaesu FT-70, FT-70R and FT-70DR two-way radios. It accepts the complete radio handset or the SBR-24li lithium-ion battery alone. The unit is supplied new and unused.

Smart Charging with Auto Shut-Off

The charger delivers a safe, smart charge cycle and stops automatically when the battery reaches full capacity. This prevents overcharging during extended dock time. No supervision is required once the radio or battery is inserted.

SBH-28 Compatibility Decides Fit

The SBH-28 model number determines whether the charger matches your radio. It fits the listed FT-70 series models and the SBR-24li battery only. Buyers with other Yaesu series or different battery packs need a different charger.

Questions about this item

Does the SBH-28 charger generate noticeable heat or fan noise when charging a Yaesu FT-70DR all day?

The desktop unit has no fan and uses passive cooling, so it runs silently and stays only warm to the touch during extended charge cycles.

What power source must I already have to operate the SBH-28 with my FT-70 radio?

You need a standard AC wall outlet; the charger includes its own mains lead and requires no separate power supply.

Will the SBH-28 charge the original SBR-24Li battery that came with my older FT-70?

Yes, the cradle accepts the SBR-24Li pack directly or with the radio attached, and stops automatically when full.
