Universal Radio Chest Rig

The usbroway fluorescent-green chest rig holds any two-way radio securely against the torso using adjustable shoulder straps that fit both men and women. A centre pouch adds space for compact trauma shears, gloves or a small battery pack. Originally developed for ski patrols and mountain rescue, the one-size design fastens without multiple Velcro straps or buckles.

Centre pouch utility

The integrated centre pouch lets users keep essential tools or a spare power source within immediate reach while the radio stays fixed on the chest. This arrangement supports hands-free operation during survival outings, hiking, biking, work shifts, school trips, camping, fishing, travel or recreational use.

Harness attachment limits

The rig relies solely on shoulder-strap adjustment for retention; it does not incorporate a rigid mounting plate, quick-release buckle system or MOLLE webbing. Users needing modular accessory panels, a fixed vehicle mount or a harness certified for fall-protection loads will find those features absent.

Questions about this item

Will the adjustable shoulder straps need replacing after heavy daily use?

The straps are built into the one-size-fits-all harness and adjust without multiple Velcro straps or buckles, so there are no separate strap components to wear out and replace.

What limits how long a two-way radio stays secure in the chest pouch during constant movement?

The harness instantly adjusts to hold any sized radio snugly against the chest, relying on a single adaptive fit rather than multiple fasteners that could loosen over time.

Does the fluorescent green material trap heat when worn all day in warm conditions?

The open chest-rig design leaves the torso uncovered except for the centre pouch and straps, allowing airflow around the body during extended wear.
