RoboSHOT 40 PTZ Camera

The Vaddio RoboSHOT 40 is a professional pan-tilt-zoom camera built for surveillance and security installations. It uses a 1/2.5 Exmor CMOS sensor to capture video at 3840 x 2160 resolution with 8.51 million effective pixels. The unit offers 20x optical zoom and connects via HDMI, HDBT, HD-SDI and IP streaming outputs.

Upgrading from fixed cameras

This system replaces static cameras that cannot adjust their field of view after installation. The 20x optical zoom lets operators move from a wide 80mm minimum working distance to a tight 800mm telephoto view without losing detail. The jump is worth it when a single mounting point must cover both broad areas and distant points of interest.

Suits monitored facilities

The camera suits facilities that need remote directional control and multiple simultaneous video feeds over different infrastructures. It supports 12 VDC power and LTPoE++ for simplified cabling. Buyers who need built-in analytics, thermal imaging or wireless deployment should look at other product types.

Questions about this item

What physical mounting does the RoboSHOT 40 need?

The camera is a standard PTZ body that mounts on a wall or ceiling bracket with a 1/4‑20 thread; allow clearance for the 20x optical zoom lens to rotate through its full pan and tilt range.

How is the RoboSHOT 40 installed and what step is often missed?

Connect 12 VDC at 3.0 A or LTPoE++ power, then link video via HDMI, HDBT, HD‑SDI or IP H.264; the step often missed is setting the IP stream to 3840 x 2160 before the first recording.

What maintenance will the RoboSHOT 40 need later?

Clean the front glass when dust affects the 8.51MP Exmor CMOS sensor image; check the 1.6 lux low‑light performance annually and re‑calibrate auto focus if the 80 mm wide or 800 mm tele working distances drift.
