General Purpose Utility Rope

This 600 ft spool of 1/4 in diameter polypropylene rope is a general purpose utility line sold new. It is suited for tying, bundling and light hauling tasks around the yard or job site where a working load limit of 210 lb is sufficient.

Twisted Three Strand Construction

The rope uses a twisted three strand hollow core design with a breaking strength of 945 lbf. Plain ends and a spool format allow the user to cut any required length and secure it with standard knots without special hardware or termination tools.

Not Rated For Lifting Loads

This product is explicitly not for lifting applications, so buyers needing overhead rigging or fall protection must select a rated alternative. Check that a 210 lb working load limit covers the intended tension and that polypropylene’s stretch characteristics suit the task.

Questions about this item

What is the 210 lb working load limit and how does it relate to the 945 lbf breaking strength?

The 210 lb working load limit is the maximum safe load for regular use, while the 945 lbf breaking strength is the force at which the rope will fail.

What diameter and length does the spool provide, and what clearance is needed?

The rope is 1/4 in diameter and 600 ft long on a spool, requiring storage space for a 600 ft coil of 1/4 in line.

How do I attach a knot or hardware to the plain ends without weakening the twisted polypropylene?

Splice or use a proper knot such as a bowline on the plain ends; avoid sharp bends that concentrate stress on the twisted 3-strand construction.
