Dimensions and finish

This heavy-duty vinyl tarp measures 16 by 20 feet cut size and finishes at 15 feet 2 inches by 19 feet 6 inches. The 20 mil thickness and 18 ounce per square yard fabric weight provide robust coverage for equipment, vehicles or outdoor storage. Brass grommets spaced every 24 inches allow secure tie-down in windy conditions.

Upgrade from lightweight covers

It replaces standard poly tarps that tear quickly and degrade under sun exposure. The jump is worth it when you need a waterproof barrier that resists mildew, UV damage and repeated abrasion over multiple seasons. Single-stitched, rope-reinforced seams add strength at the edges where stress concentrates.

Sustained outdoor performance

Under continuous load the vinyl remains waterproof and tear resistant without becoming brittle. Mildew resistance prevents fouling during damp periods, while UV resistance slows material breakdown during long summer exposure. The non-breathable construction traps moisture underneath, so ventilation must be managed separately for condensation-sensitive items.

Questions about this item

What finished dimensions should I plan for so the 16 x 20 ft tarp covers the area I need?

The finished size is 15 ft 2 in by 19 ft 6 in, so allow for the cut-size reduction when measuring your coverage area.

How do I secure the tarp using the brass grommets, and what spacing mistake should I avoid?

Grommets are spaced every 24 inches along the rope-reinforced, single-stitched hem; run tie-downs through each grommet rather than skipping any to prevent wind stress on the vinyl.

When will the 18 oz/sq yd vinyl need replacing under normal outdoor exposure?

The heavy-duty, UV-resistant, waterproof vinyl resists mildew and tears, but prolonged sun and weather will eventually degrade the material; inspect annually and replace once cracking or loss of waterproofing appears.
